I’m reading poems from my forthcoming collection ‘Couples’ at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds with Adelle Stripe, Ian Duhig, Steve Ely and Dai Parsons, on Wednesday 17 October at 6.30pm. The event is free and is a launch event for Adelle Stripe’s excellent new poetry collection, ‘Dark Corners of the Land’. AL Kennedy says of ‘Couples’: “dark and funny and twisted, but surprisingly tender.”
A short film I have written the script for is being premiered at The King’s Arms in Salford on Friday 19th October. It’s called ‘A Few Circles in the Water’. The screening takes place at 8pm and stars Steven Pinder and James Foster. It is part of an event called Embryo. Join Embryo on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/266021934575/
I’m appearing at the Havant Literary Festival (between Chichester and Portsmouth) on Saturday 20th October, running a workshop in the morning, then in conversation in the afternoon with David Penrose. (http://www.havantlitfest.org.uk/)
I’m appearing at the Durham Book Festival on Sunday 28th October, talking about by novel King Crow with fellow writers Stephen May and Annabel Pitcher (http://www.durhambookfestival.com/home.html). The event is in association with the Read Regional campaign. (www.readregional.com). The next day I’m doing an event at HMP Low Newton, which is a women’s prison, and is the home of Rosemary West – but for obvious reasons, you’re not invited to that one!
